The Town of Yorktown, Indiana

The State of Indiana has created legislation to encourage local governments to operate more effectively and efficiently.  The Town of Yorktown and Mt. Pleasant Township in June of 2010 enacted resolutions to study the effects of consolidation between the Town and Township.  Indiana Code (IC) 36-1.5, lays out the process of government reorganization and consolidation.
